Summer Institute Lab Sciences Instructor
The TEAK Fellowship is looking for experienced middle or high school teacher to teach Lab Sciences to rising 9th graders during Summer Institute 2026. The Instructor will implement 5 weeks of lessons, including labs that introduce Chemistry and Physics and teach basic laboratory techniques and safety. The Instructor will teach three sections of approximately fifteen students four times a week, Monday through Thursday, from July 1 - Aug 10, 2026.
The TEAK Fellowship is a ten-year enrichment program that offers New York City students from under-resourced communities intensive after-school and summer academic classes, transformational cultural experiences, secondary school, and college guidance, a vibrant internship program, and a robust support system. TEAK students earn admission/financial aid at our Nation’s most prestigious academic institutions and graduate from them determined to make an impact on communities in need of their contributions and leadership.
Duties include:
Teach 3 sections to rising 9th graders July through August 2026
Provide classroom supervision and instruction Monday - Thursday.
Attend instructor orientation June 29-30.
Attend faculty meetings 1x a week during the summer.
Lead an Intensive or other extra duty 2x/week
Use Google Classroom and assign between 30-40 minutes of homework daily. Collect and grade Fellow homework.
Provide midterm and final grades, including writing student comments.
TEAK offers generous compensation to its instructors. Applicants must be US citizens or have a valid work visa.
